Introduction - Golf is a gentleman’s game as well as a highly athletic event. A professional club head speed exceed over 100-120 miles per hour, this level of exertion and muscle activation puts stress on the body and can cause injury such as low back pain, elbow, shoulder and wrist injury etc, so we are going to start a golf fitness program. We are TPI certified golf fitness trainers which is the world’s leading educational organization and research facility to the study of how the human body functions in relation to the golf swing. In CGA Golf Fitness Centre junior golfers will become good athletes so they can play better and injury free golf. By developing as an athlete first and a golfer second we believe that chances for success and playing the game for a lifetime greatly increase

Objects – 

a. To educate junior golfers, professionals and the playing public on the importance of the body and how it relates to the golf swing .

b. To introduce junior Cyclone program for kids between the ages of 6 and 8.

c. To introduce S.M.A.S.H program for kids between the ages of 8 and 12.

d. To improve golfer’s fundamental movement skills.

e. Physical screening.

f. Corrective work.

g. To improve golf fitness components among the golfers such as mobility, stability, strength, power and cardiovascular endurance.

h. Injury rehabilitation.

i. Fun activities for junior golfers.

j. Functional training.

 

Training programme- 

 

a. Indoor training – monkey bars, pulling- pushing exercises, mobility exercises, balancing training, squat-lunge pattern, rope climbing, rowing machine, strength training, power training, fitness tests and corrective work.

b. Outdoor training- 

1. Striking- T-ball batting practice, tennis ground shots, hockey slap shots etc

2. Agility- includes hurdles, agility ladder and obstacle courses

3. Throwing- includes all over-hand throwing activities. These include throwing a ball, throwing a foam javelin and foam football throws.

4. Balance- includes balance beams, balance obstacle courses, foam discs and swissballs.

5. Kicking- includes soccer ball kicks, and kick ball.

6. Catching- includes Frisbees and different-different ball.

7. Locomotion- includes skipping, hopping, sliding, sprinting, bounding, crawling and karaoke.

8. Basketball.

9. Soccer matches.

10. Tug of war.

C. Fitness camps for junior kids.

D. Special Fitness camps for ladies and senior golfers.

Future prospects-  The mission of CGA Golf Fitness centre is to educate golfers on the body/swing connection. Golfers will become good athletes and they will definitely play better golf and will remain injury free. This will help to enhance Indian golfer’s performance worldwide.
